“The Stranger” – Albert CAMUS

“In our society, a man who doesn’t cry at his mother’s funeral, may be sentenced to death”. Albert CAMUS in “L’ETRANGER”

I saw this play in Théâtre Espace Marais
22 rue Beautreillis
75004 Paris
tél. 01 48 04 91 55
Métro : Saint Paul

The human society has decided that we have to love our parents, to love them very much but not too much…
“Mother, I want to fuck you all night long” Jim MORRISON in “THE END”
Some red necks who never heard about OEDIPUS complex and FREUD, were scandalized by the lyrics written by Jim MORRISON.

In front of Théâtre Espace Marais, there is a building 17/19 rue BEAUTREILLIS (just behind the black truck on the pic) where Jim MORRISON officialy, died.

You’ve seen your birth,

your life and death

You might recall all of the rest.

Did you have a good world

when you died ?

Enough to base a movie on ?

I came in that building :

  1. (Stumbled upon your site and just wanted to say hello and that I liked this entry; I just wrote an entry on Morrison and was curious to see who else had written about him)
I wrote my senior thesis on The End, titled “This Is the End:Freud, Nietzsche and Jim Morrison” and obviously a huge part was about the Oedipus complex.
It was the most fun I’ve ever had on a paper 🙂 Have a great day-

  2. Thanks LC. There’s so muuch to write about Jim MORRISON’s lyrics. Each one is a world.
